Art Education & Heritage Conservation
The Arts Society South Cambs is small and friendly, with just over 200 members. We have a programme of monthly illustrated Lectures (except for July and August) on a broad spectrum of arts related topics, e.g. painting, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, furniture, architecture, garden design, silver, rugs and carpets, tapestries, textiles, music, etc. We also arrange Special Interest Days, Visits and Society Holidays. We are a registered charity (No. 1132219) and our Gift Aid tax refunds are devoted to our charitable causes, principally Young Arts.
The Arts Society South Cambs is one of the over 400 independent societies affiliated to The Arts Society. These affiliated societies have more than 98,000 individual members. The Arts Society is not confined to the UK. There are thirteen societies in mainland Europe, seven in New Zealand and over thirty member societies of the affiliated Association of Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Societies. From its foundation in 1968 until 2017 The Arts Society was the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). The change in name was made to recognise the fact that the organisation was now international rather than national and that its interests now extend to all art forms rather than simply the decorative and fine arts.
There are two other societies in Cambridge affiliated to The Arts Society:
The Arts Society Cambridge
The Arts Society Granta
